The Man of Lawlessness	Der Widersacher Christi	Apparizione dell’Anticristo
1 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.	1 Was aber das Kommen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus angeht und unsre Versammlung bei ihm, so bitten wir euch, 2 dass ihr nicht so schnell wankend werdet in eurem Sinn und dass ihr euch nicht erschrecken lasst, weder durch eine Weissagung noch durch ein Wort noch durch einen Brief, die von uns sein sollen und behaupten, der Tag des Herrn sei schon da. 3 Lasst euch von niemandem verführen, in keinerlei Weise; denn zuvor muss der Abfall kommen und der Mensch des Frevels offenbart werden, der Sohn des Verderbens. 4 Er ist der Widersacher, der sich erhebt über alles, was Gott oder Heiligtum heißt, sodass er sich in den Tempel Gottes setzt und vorgibt, er sei Gott. 5 Erinnert ihr euch nicht, dass ich euch dies sagte, als ich noch bei euch war? 6 Und jetzt wisst ihr, was ihn noch aufhält, bis er offenbart wird zu seiner Zeit. 7 Denn das Geheimnis des Frevels ist bereits wirksam; nur muss der, der es jetzt aufhält, erst hinweggetan werden; 8 und dann wird der Frevler offenbart werden. Ihn wird der Herr Jesus töten mit dem Hauch seines Mundes und wird ihm ein Ende machen durch seine Erscheinung, wenn er kommt. 9 Der Frevler aber wird kommen durch das Wirken des Satans mit großer Kraft und lügenhaften Zeichen und Wundern 10 und mit jeglicher Verführung zur Ungerechtigkeit bei denen, die verloren werden. Denn sie haben die Liebe zur Wahrheit nicht angenommen, dass sie gerettet würden. 11 Und darum sendet ihnen Gott die Macht der Verführung, dass sie der Lüge glauben, 12 auf dass gerichtet werden alle, die der Wahrheit nicht glaubten, sondern Lust hatten an der Ungerechtigkeit.	1 Ora, fratelli, circa la venuta del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo e il nostro incontro con lui, vi preghiamo 2 di non lasciarvi così presto sconvolgere la mente, né turbare sia da pretese ispirazioni, sia da discorsi, sia da qualche lettera data come nostra, come se il giorno del Signore fosse già presente. 3 Nessuno vi inganni in alcun modo; poiché quel giorno non verrà se prima non sia venuta l’apostasia e non sia stato manifestato l’uomo del peccato, il figlio della perdizione, 4 l’avversario, colui che s’innalza sopra tutto ciò che è chiamato Dio od oggetto di culto; fino al punto da porsi a sedere nel tempio di Dio, mostrando se stesso e proclamandosi Dio. 5 Non vi ricordate che quando ero ancora con voi vi dicevo queste cose? 6 Ora voi sapete ciò che lo trattiene affinché sia manifestato a suo tempo. 7 Infatti il mistero dell’empietà è già in atto, soltanto c’è chi ora lo trattiene, finché sia tolto di mezzo. 8 E allora sarà manifestato l’empio, che il Signore {Gesù} distruggerà con il soffio della sua bocca, e annienterà con l’apparizione della sua venuta. 9 La venuta di quell’empio avrà luogo, per l’azione efficace di Satana, con ogni sorta di opere potenti, di segni e di prodigi bugiardi, 10 con ogni tipo d’inganno e d’iniquità a danno di quelli che periscono perché non hanno aperto il cuore all’amore della verità per essere salvati. 11 Perciò Dio manda loro una potenza d’errore perché credano alla menzogna; 12 affinché tutti quelli che non hanno creduto alla verità, ma si sono compiaciuti nell’iniquità, siano giudicati.

13 But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. 14 To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter. 16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.	13 Wir aber müssen Gott allezeit für euch danken, vom Herrn geliebte Brüder und Schwestern, dass Gott euch als Erstlinge erwählt hat zur Seligkeit in der Heiligung durch den Geist und im Glauben an die Wahrheit, 14 wozu er euch auch berufen hat durch unser Evangelium, damit ihr die Herrlichkeit unseres Herrn Jesus Christus erlangt. 15 So steht nun fest und haltet euch an die Überlieferungen, in denen ihr durch uns unterwiesen worden seid, es sei durch Wort oder Brief von uns. 16 Er aber, unser Herr Jesus Christus, und Gott, unser Vater, der uns geliebt und uns einen ewigen Trost gegeben hat und eine gute Hoffnung durch Gnade, 17 der tröste eure Herzen und stärke euch in allem guten Werk und Wort.	13 Ma noi dobbiamo sempre ringraziare Dio per voi, fratelli amati dal Signore, perché Dio fin dal principio vi ha eletti a salvezza mediante la santificazione nello Spirito e la fede nella verità. 14 A questo egli vi ha {pure} chiamati per mezzo del nostro vangelo, affinché otteniate la gloria del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo. 15 Così dunque, fratelli, state saldi e ritenete gli insegnamenti che vi abbiamo trasmessi sia con la parola, sia con una nostra lettera. 16 Ora lo stesso Signore nostro Gesù Cristo e Dio nostro Padre, che ci ha amati e ci ha dato per la sua grazia una consolazione eterna e una buona speranza, 17 consoli i vostri cuori e vi confermi in ogni opera buona e in ogni buona parola.
